Marketing & Communications Areas of Volunteerism

 
Areas of Volunteerism:
  • General M&C committee member:  Our committee meets once a month for approximately 1 ˝ hours.  We are always looking for individuals who want to be more involved.  Come and try out the committee and see what areas interest you.  We have ongoing opportunities and those that arise throughout the year for you to get involved and support the Chapter.
     
  • Project based opportunities:  We have a variety of projects that come up throughout the year that would be a one time commitment, for example, drafting a communication piece, event photography, maintaining the committee calendar, community relations and coordinating poll questions. 
     
  • Corporate Partner Liaisons:  Work with our Corporate Partner businesses to facilitate scheduling and usage of benefits throughout the year.  This role is assigned on an annual basis and has a time commitment of approximately ˝ hour per month.
     
  • Social Media:
    • Approve or deny membership to Linked-In Members Only Group
    • Post pictures to Facebook and Twitter accounts from meetings and events
    • Publicize upcoming events on Linked-In, Facebook and Twitter
    • Maintains social media GMA SHRM persona
    • Posts relevant HR articles and information on social media sites
       
  • HR InTouch Newsletter Coordinator:  Coordinate articles, programming notices, membership spotlight, and Chapter highlights in the monthly HR InTouch Newsletter.
     
  • HR InTouch Newletter Contributors:  Source and/or write articles for the monthly Newsletter.  We’re always looking for subject matter experts in the various specialized areas of HR as well as the occasional contributor. 
     
  • Compensation Survey Coordinators:  Assist with one or all of the following areas of the annual Compensation Survey:
    •  Facilitate the marketing of the surveys
    •  Answering member questions related to surveys and results
    • Review questionnaire content for applicability
       
  • Media Relations:  Serve as a media contact, respond to requests by the media for information, and develop press releases.
