Session 1

Your organization is missing out on top talent due to bias in job requirements, networking strategies, and communications. In this workshop, participants will learn to recognize inequities created by individual and organizational biases in the hiring process, understand their role in shifting standard practices, and to mitigate bias in hiring to make your organization accessible, and welcoming to all candidates.


Participants will learn to:   
  • Identify how bias influences each stage of the recruitment cycle.
  • Define the role of the hiring team in advancing equity in the organization.
  • Identify practices that will keep the hiring team committed to making equity a priority in the organization.

Session 2

Are you the lion, the scarecrow, or are you made of tin? Let's save a life today by Showing, Shifting and Shaping polices to save lives!    We will investigate unconscious bias, microaggressions and engagement. Does everyone know what your company culture is? If someone says something offensive, do people know how to respond or does it become a hassle?  Together, we will help your Diversity Equity and Inclusion efforts make the world a better place. Behaviors, Skills and Knowledge will be explored. Resources will be provided. Best practices for your Diversity, Equity & Inclusionary efforts will be provided.  The ultimate goal of DEI is Belonging, where are you at along this journey?  Let’s pull back the curtain on DEI and find YOUR pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!   



Participants will learn:
  • Learn how to SHOW DEI efforts
  • Define how to SHIFT from a small a ally to a capital A Ally
  • SHAPE policies and procedures to promote an Inclusive and Belonging Culture

Gautam is a dynamic professional who is passionate about entrenching equity, inclusion, and diversity into all areas of business practices. He is devoted to moving past compliance-based operations toward fully embracing policies and practices grounded in tenets of restorative justice. He currently works as a Human Resources Manager with UW-Madison where he operationalizes equity through empowering employees to bring their true authentic selves to work and find new definitions of success in large bureaucratic environments.

He believes that true change occurs when individuals are empowered to advocate for themselves, systems are built with equity, justice, and access in mind, and we are able to hold those in power to a higher standard. He’s never met a dog he didn’t like.
 
Amy loves connecting people and processes for more equitable and sustainable outcomes. Amy’s background is in project management, facilitation, consulting, nonprofit leadership, and operations. As a facilitator, Amy connects with participants with humility and humor. She graduated from UW-Madison with a focus in Sociology and Geography with a Certificate in Environmental Studies. The Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies recognized Amy with an Early Career Alumni award in 2016 for her work in elevating the conversation about equity, diversity, and inclusion in the sustainability movement. She is a SixSeconds certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner and Assessor. Amy serves as a past board Vice President on the Racial Justice Committee at Community Shares of Wisconsin.


 
 
As an experienced and energetic Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) professional speaker and facilitator, Lisa specializes in counteracting unconscious bias and LGBTQ+ inclusion in business. Her impact is amplified through strengthening each person’s allyship. With a demonstrated history of working in secondary education and a passion toward community and social services, she is an expert in counseling, crisis intervention, educational leadership, and program development.  After receiving her Diversity & Inclusion certification from Cornell University, Lisa launched her Inclusion Ally business. Being an expert in LGBTQ+ issues has allowed her to present in 23 states and keynote numerous school counseling conferences. She also has received her Inclusion Institute Certified Diversity Practitioner (CDP) certification.  Lisa’s speaking style can best be described as dynamic, energetic, and interactive.  After 12 years of being a middle school counselor, she is now an adjunct instructor at Lakeland University training the next generation of school counselors.   She has also given a TEDx Talk and is a best-selling author of the book: Be An Inclusion Ally: ABCs of LGBTQ+
