Risha Grant - Get Rid of the BS 

Risha Grant is recognized as a Top 100 HR influencer and uses neuroscience to discover our BS - Bias Synapse.   In her book, That’s BS! How Bias Synapse Disrupts Inclusive Cultures and her work as a leading Diversity and Inclusion consultant, Risha has motivated and educated numerous corporations, associations and universities and lead them to a new place of respect and understanding.   These audiences have included Discover Card Financial Services, Samsung Electronics America, Cox Communications, Wells Fargo, USAA Diversified Financial Group, Boy Scouts of America, U.S. Airforce, Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder, University of Oklahoma and Roger Williams University, to name a few.

Risha has been awarded numerous honors such as the 2019 Top 100 HR Influencers, 2018 Inclusive Leadership Award, Entrepreneur of the Year 2017, One of Four to Watch by the Tulsa World, one of the Most Influential African Americans, and one of the Top 10 Entrepreneurs by Engage Magazine. She has also won the Tulsa Regional Chamber’s Top Inclusive Award three years and been nominated for the Journal Record Woman of the Year award several times. The Annual Employment Law Update (COVID-19 Edition) , Session 1, Jennifer Mirus and Brian Goodman, Boardman & Clark Law Firm

Jennifer S. Mirus is the Co-Chairperson of the Labor & Employment team at BoardmanClark LLP.  Jennifer has been practicing employment law in Madison for over 23 years.  Jennifer represents employers in all aspects of employment relations, including hiring, discipline and terminations, wage and hour issues, discrimination, ADA, FMLA, and harassment.  Jennifer also has extensive experience negotiating and drafting employment contracts, non-compete agreements, and employee handbooks.  Jennifer’s experience also includes conducting workplace investigations and human resources and management trainings for clients of all sizes.  Jennifer is a proud UW-Madison alum (both undergraduate and law school) and loves calling Madison home.  She is a sought out speaker for human resources groups and is a member of Boardman & Clark’s Executive Committee.

Brian P. Goodman is an attorney and a member of the Labor and Employment, School Law and Municipal teams at BoardmanClark LLP. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Goodman was a music teacher in Illinois and received his Master’s degree in educational administration from Northern Illinois University. He uses his experience as an educator to assist employers on a wide range of legal issues and is a frequent presenter on employment school law matters. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School, magna cum laude and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Mr. Goodman currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Madison Area Society for Human Resource Management as the Vice President of Programming.

As Chief Operating Officer of QTI’s Total Rewards Consulting practice, Summer Rector leads a highly-talented team of experienced professionals who empower organizations to achieve greater total rewards impact.  Summer has over a decade of compensation consulting and administration experience having worked for such organizations as Mercer, DayNine-Accenture, and Health Care Service Corporation. 

She is active in the HR community, serving in such roles as a SHRM Learning System instructor, Graduate School of Banking – HR Management School faculty member, and Wisconsin School of Business HR guest lecturer in both graduate and undergraduate programs.  Summer graduated from UW-Madison with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management and Human Resources and holds the SHRM-SCP designation.
