Session 1

Brian and Storm return to the Aliant Energy Center once more to make sure HR professionals are up to date on a wide variety of employment law developments.  Bringing their usual energy and excitement, these attorneys will make sure that you not only know what the law says but are prepared to comply in practice.  Be ready to engage with your colleagues through a few different hypothetical situations so that you are ready if these legal issues come to your organization.

Attendees of this program will learn:

  • About changes to employment regulations and laws at the federal, state, and local levels
  • About existing legal issues that are becoming more relevant
  • How to put legal compliance into practice to benefit their organizations

Session 2

This session will cover two separate topics. First, we will discuss and analyze the increasingly complex leave and accommodation requests HR professionals are facing, especially around extended leave scenarios. We’ll dive into practical approaches for handling leave and accommodation issues, including legal obligations, risk mitigation, and how to navigate the interactive process. Then, we will turn to the continued shift in labor law and the wave of change Trump 2.0 is ushering in. A new NLRB General Counsel and Republican-majority Board are expected to reverse many Biden-era precedents, offering employers a temporary reset—but not a solution to the deeper labor relations challenges that remain. We will explore what employers should expect from the NLRB over the next three years and how to strategically manage labor relations in this current environment. Attendees will leave with actionable insights to strengthen compliance and reduce exposure in today’s evolving workplace.

Participants will learn:

  • Practical approaches for handling leave and accommodation issues, including legal obligations, risk mitigation, and how to navigate the interactive process.
  • How to strategically manage labor relations in this current environment.
  • Actionable insights to strengthen compliance and reduce exposure in today’s evolving workplace.
